Location - Curacao island, southern Caribbean

Groups involved - Limpi recycling, Hofi Cas Cora,Lokale Concept Store,Landhuis Bloemhof, Morena Resort

Background - Set up by Debrah and Mitchell a couple who moved to the island from the Netherlands specializing in the mass production of plastic products. Started in 2017 from a shed but within two years moved to a bigger site with more machines.

Aims - To recycle plastics to create products to sell, increase awareness in community, reduce plastic waste and rubbish on beaches.

Resources recycled - HDPE and PP plastics, using machinery to form key chains and decorative items (coasters, fish stands, custom products)

Social impacts - They sell their products locally, education of locals (mostly children) on plastic and waste, better quality of life (clean beaches), jobs created through waste management process.

Economic - Build their on machines to process plastics, aim to make Curacao a more sustainable island.

Environmental - reduces burning of plastic by recycling instead, reduce animal deaths caused by plastic consumption, beaches cleaned by removing waste.
