Background

The area included in the South Downs National Park is shown in the map which has been added as an image. Falmer village is located in the South Downs National Park and has a village green and pond. The Castle Hill National Nature Reserve is an area of chalk grassland which is also located within the South Downs National Park and is a designated National Nature Reserve. In 1975, 46 hectares was designated as a National Nature Reserve (NNR).

Environmental Citizenship

The South Downs National Park contributes to environmental citizenship because the land is being protected. It is being conceived in an ecocentric way.
