Community Composting Scheme

Background Information

Bevendean Community Garden has a community composting scheme where locals can bring their food waste to be composted and turned into fertiliser for the vegetable garden. It is a great way to put back into the environment what you have taken out and it promote environmental citizenship by recycling and not sending food to landfill.

Contribution to Environmental Citizenship

Bevendean Community Garden promotes environmental citizenship as it reduces food waste going to landfill and gives back to the environment through the nutrients in the compost.
