Edward Martin - Authentic Souvenirs

Goldsmiths graduate Martin's work reconsiders the value of souvenirs found in seaside sounds, by proposing and creating dioramas of authentic moments and locations of Brighton.

‘The objects currently available in seaside towns are totally disconnected from the locations they represent. My project is concerned with these ‘souvenirs’, and is an investigation into authenticity through my attempts to create the most authentic souvenir of Brighton. This work extends beyond the issue of where an object has been made, exploring the narratives and personal memories we attach to souvenir objects.’
