Information about time for the public to meet to participate in gardening activities

Run by the Hanover Action for Sustainable Living and based at the Hanover Community Centre there is a small community education garden where members of the public living within Hanover and Elm Grove come together to learn how to grow things and promote sustainability whilst "nourishing friendships over the vegetable patches".

They beleieve growing vegetables yourself helps to create an understanding of how precious the food is we eat.

This education will help residents to understand how unsustainable supermarket foods are, with "carrots from Spain, apples from Costa Rica and cellophane packaged as a norm and dripping with carbon miles". Not only will this promote the growing of food within residents own gardens but teaches them efficient methods of growing food such as using compost and rain catchers shown on the pictures.
