Brighton Urban Wildlife Group (Booth museum of natural history)

'The museum was founded in 1874 and the methods of its founder reflected the accepted scientific practices of Victorian Britain' (Pavilion and Museums, no date).

Current Conservation:

The Booth museum is not just preserved species, whilst this is important they also hold data accompanying such species. Without this information the specimen cannot contribute to science conservation. This data also allows for construction of habitat information focusing particularly Sussex environments - hence their involvement in atlases of lepidoptera and plant species in the county.

The Library:

There is also a substantial library, donated by Edward Booth as well as Brighton & Sussex Natural History & Philosophical Society.
