ZST architects are working in partnership with Brighton and Hove City Council CityClean, to organise and take part in a marine litter clean up and survey as part of The Marine Conservation Society’s (MCS) Beachwatch. The survey findings will contribute to data from coastlines across the UK and enable the Marine Conservation Society to put protection and conservation programmes in place. Volunteers from the University of Brighton also joined the beach clean "as part of their award-winning internal sustainability engagement campaign, ‘c-change’" (ZST). Brighton and Hove Cityclean supplied litter pickers, bags and gloves on the day they also donated a sharps disposal box and refuse collection kit. Brighton University assisted with refreshment funding and marketing support was provided from Surfers Against Sewage. Worked with local businesses & The Argus to get as many volunteers as possible across the city. More than 50 volunteers took part and over 40 bags of rubbish were collected (Brighton&Hove News), relating to environmental citizenship as members of the public were actively involved.
