Bus Stop Cycling Poster

What is it?

This is a poster which can be seen throughout the city but is mostly posted onto bus stops. It is a reflection of Brighton and Hove City Council's attitude towards greener transport.

What does it do?

By providing services as simple as a free online cycle map, it can encourage more people to get involved with the initiative and potentially have a long term impact on issues such as air quality and pollution within the city of Brighton. This initiative links with another place in our ward - such as Changing Gears. On the website displayed in the picture above, you can select the type of route you want to cycle, what you’d like to find on route, including landmarks, cycle parking, light controlled crossings and even cycle retail and repair places. This customisation of cycle routes means the scheme is attempting to be inclusive and allowing locals to efficiently plan their route.

How does this relate to Environmental Citizenship?

This poster relates to environmental citizenship as it effectively shows the responsibility citizens have in decreasing the amount of harmful gases into the environment from fossil fuels. This poster contributes to the good health and well being sustainable development goal, as it encourages locals to use bikes and exercise.
