Help
Community21 has selected some case study communities and projects to share across the network to inspire and inform others. Should we be featuring yours? If so get in touch.
The Wild About Barcombe project started as an ambition to provide accessible, alternative recreational space that promotes community, education and bio-diversity.
The wild about Barcombe site is adjacent to the main recreation ground sports field and orbits the allotments recently introduced by the Parish Council.
Volunteers from the village and Parish Council have developed a scheme with help and with the help of local supporters and the lottery the site should be taking shape very soon.
For more information on getting involved in 'Wild About Barcombe' please contact the project team.
The Wild About Barcombe project has been funded through the Community Spaces programme. The Community Spaces grants programme is being managed by Groundwork UK as an Award Partner to the Big Lottery Fund. Community Spaces is part of the Big Lottery Fund's Changing Spaces initiative.

Funding for Free Events or Fundraising Opportunities at Pump House Field
Wild About Barcombe has funding available until May 2012 to support events that take place at Pump House Field. These can be free events for the local community to enjoy, or fundraising events.
Provided your event involves the local community and embraces the ‘wild’ purpose of Pump House Field, we can support you with funds, advice and other resources to help you get your event off the ground. Whatever money you raise from the event itself goes to your chosen cause.
Publicity
Letting people know about your event is up to you. We can support costs of posters, but word of mouth is the best way. The deadline for the Barcombe News is the 14th of the month and community events can be included for free.
Resources
Wild About Barcombe has some useful resources available to borrow such as a bat detector, bug jars, nets and also some quiz sheets that can be used for nature trails or treasure hunts.
