Colgate Primary School

There has been a school at Colgate since 1865, but the building has been located in its present site since 1915. It was modernised and extended in 1975/76 and again in 2001.

Today, the main building comprises an Early Years Unit with a covered outside area, a hall, a practical area, class base for Year 1 and 2 children, kitchens, offices, fiction library and a computer suite which incorporates our reference library. There are also toilet and cloakroom facilities.

Three more class bases are situated within modular units sited within the school grounds. Furthermore all classes have interactive whiteboards and internet access.

The school has a hard-surfaced playground and an adjacent bark area, where has been installed a low level adventure trail and attractive seating. Opposite the school site, is a large playing field, which is used for athletics and games. The school also has an environmental area with a pond.
