Josh Bitelli and Forfars bakery

Josh’s product celebrates 75 years of the Forfars Bakery and like his road builders project it draws attention to the ‘unsung’ craftsmen and women who work day in and out, often in unsocial hours to bring us our daily fundamentals. Josh worked with the bakers and hollowed out specially formed artisan bread and poured liquid, ceramic slip into the loaves – which when baked in the kiln at just the right temperature formed wonderful, organic vases. By being both experimental and ground breaking in terms of form and texture, they act as a trophy with which to celebrate this landmark date in the bakery’s history.
