BREEAM Award - The University of Sussex

BREEAM is a measurement widely used to assess the environmental impacts of a building and the lifecycle of a building. Northfields, a halls of residence, was awarded a BREEAM award for being sustainably built. The University focused on using sustainably methods and reducing their energy and waste during construction as well as making sure they remained low in energy usage as well after completion. The University hope to install solar panels with the help of government funding on their main campus buildings within the next few years.

This is environmental citizenship because The University are conscious about their energy usage and waste and are actively trying to reduce the impact their campus has on the environment.
