Description: An innovative concept for a dynamic and economically sustainable 21st Century urban public space, sustaining locals and visitors alike while functioning as a laboratory for experimental mechanisms for commerce, education and community cohesion. It is located on a demolition site and in one of the most ethically diverse and deprived wards in Britain, the Caravanseri offers it’s community a place they can make their own. It’s a five - year, temporary low budget project creating opportunities through a range of enterprises, participatory events emphasizing the connectivity between business and family life. Performances, art, installation, workshops, storytelling, design, craft, food and up-skilling activities.
